Uzbekistan continues to move confidently toward energy transformation. Since the beginning of the year, the country has generated 9 billion kWh of electricity from renewable sources — twice as much as in the entire year of 2024.
📊 23% of the total energy mix
Including hydropower, the share of green energy has reached 23% of total electricity generation. At present, Uzbekistan operates 12 solar and 5 wind power plants with a combined capacity of 4.68 GW, and their contribution to the national grid continues to grow.
📌 Economic and environmental impact
Thanks to the shift toward renewables, Uzbekistan has saved 2.73 billion cubic meters of natural gas and prevented 4 million tons of harmful emissions. This represents not only economic benefits but also a significant environmental achievement, reinforcing the country’s strategic commitment to sustainable development.
