📌 On March 17, 2025, Mr. Zaur Beck, Advisor to the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Council (AUIC), took part in the business forum “Uzbekistan: Opportunities for Italian Companies” held at the Lecco headquarters of the Como-Lecco Chamber of Commerce. The event was organized in partnership with the Italy-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce to promote investment and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The forum featured remarks by H.E. Abat Fayzullaev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy, and Mr. Burkhonilla Khamidullaev, Advisor for Economic and Trade Cooperation. Both highlighted Uzbekistan’s strategic development agenda and investment potential across key sectors, including natural resources, textiles, chemicals, and agri-food. They underlined the country’s openness to foreign investment and the concrete opportunities available to Italian companies.
During the networking session, Mr. Beck introduced AUIC’s mission and current initiatives, holding discussions with several Italian firms—including Cotonella and Toscana Nastri—on prospective joint ventures and investment projects in Uzbekistan.
🔸 A key outcome of the event was AUIC’s decision to join the Italy-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce. This membership will provide AUIC with access to a network of over 100 Italian businesses operating or preparing to enter the Uzbek market, reinforcing its role in strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations.
