Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine have agreed to introduce a unified transit permit form within the framework of TRACECA. For transport operators, this means the ability to cross multiple countries using a single document — without additional paperwork or duplicative administrative procedures.

At first glance, this may appear to be a purely technical decision. In reality, however, it represents an important step toward creating a more integrated transport and logistics corridor linking Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Europe.

What this means for the region:

  • shorter transit times across international routes
  • lower administrative costs for businesses
  • greater predictability for cross-border transportation
  • increased attractiveness of the Middle Corridor for cargo flows

It is also particularly notable that discussions are now moving toward “paperless transit” and the broader digitalization of transport and logistics processes.
