Member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) have initiated negotiations on a multilateral investment agreement. During the second meeting of heads of government in Baku, participants also reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating non-tariff barriers in order to boost intra-regional trade.

Key priorities:

→ improving the business and investment climate

→ strengthening ties among business communities

→ advancing joint investment projects

→ developing a new OTS development strategy for 2027–2031

According to Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister, Abdulla Aripov, “amid the fragmentation of the global architecture of international security and economic cooperation, the role of regional organizations—built on trust, historical affinity, and shared interests—is increasing.”

The OTS brings together Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.
