Foreign capital continues to play a significant role in Azerbaijan’s investment activity.

In the first half of 2026, foreign-sourced investment in fixed capital amounted to AZN 2.4 billion (approximately $1.4 billion), up 18.2% compared with the same period last year.

Foreign sources accounted for 25.8% of total fixed capital investment. This share increased by 1 percentage point year-on-year.

Overall, in January–June, AZN 9.3 billion (approximately $5.5 billion) was invested in Azerbaijan’s fixed capital, representing a 13.8% increase in real terms.

Investment grew in both the oil and gas and non-oil and gas sectors: AZN 3.2 billion was directed to the oil and gas industry (+34.3%), while another AZN 6.1 billion was invested in the non-oil and gas sector (+5.5%).

Thus, the majority of investment in the country’s economy is directed to the non-oil and gas sector, while overall foreign capital inflows continue to grow.
