By 2025, the volume of freight transported via the Middle Corridor reached 4.12 million tonnes — nine times the level recorded in 2021.

Nearly all freight traffic along the route crosses the Caspian Sea, making port and shipbuilding infrastructure a critical component of the corridor.

Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan are increasing investment in this infrastructure:

🇦🇿 Azerbaijan is expanding the Baku Shipyard: 14 vessels have already been built, with another 11 currently under construction.

🇰🇿 Kazakhstan is developing a new shipyard at the Port of Kuryk, valued at $292 million, while also attracting €100 million for the establishment of a second facility.

🇹🇲 Turkmenistan is expanding the capacity of the Balkan Shipyard.

The growth in freight traffic is creating new demand for capital, vessels, and infrastructure projects across the region.
