At the 15th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discussed ways to expand economic cooperation and agreed on new joint projects.
Current areas of focus include the oil and gas sector, energy, the automotive industry, real estate development, tourism, textiles and food production, construction materials manufacturing, and other sectors.
This cooperation is also supported by strong growth in bilateral trade: in January–May 2026, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan increased by nearly 40% year-on-year. In 2025, bilateral trade reached $307.2 million, up 14.6%. The two countries aim to increase this figure to $1 billion.
